Down The TBR Hole Week #6

It’s time once again for this weekly meme host by the lovely Lia over at Lost In A Story.

Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well that’s going to change!

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

The Wizard Knight #1 & 2 | by: Gene Wolfe

This is a series that was recommended to me by one of my very best friends. He has never steered me wrong and (at least when it comes to books) I trust him completely.

Judgement: Keep!

City of Bones | by: Cassandra Clare

I’ve already read The Infernal Devices and really enjoyed it so this will most definitely stay on this list. It definitly has the makings of something that will maybe annoy me though so the rest of the series will stay off my list until I actually get around to reading this.

Neverwhere | by: Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman is another automatic keep for me. So there really is no need to sit here and debate it with myself.

Good Omens | by: Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman

As I said above, automatic keep. I probably would have read this already but my friend and I never actually exchanged the books like we had planned. (I had purchased American Gods and she bought this one and we had planned to switched when we were both finished. It never happened though.)

The Alchemyst | by: Michael Scott

This is a tough one. On the one hand, just about anything to do with alchemy is something I’m interested in, but at the same time it sounds like the type of book at is going to be fill with just about every cliché imaginable. Alchemy wins though.

Judgement: Keep for now.
