“The Last Christmas”

What if this were the last Christmas here on this earth,
no more gifts, trees, or carols that sing of His Birth,
would we do something differently, or just act the same,
if there was no more Christmas to remember His Name.
What if after Thanksgiving, it became the New Year,
and our memories of Christmas were faded, unclear,
would we still think of giving, to those who have less,
or forget that the reason Jesus came was to bless.
If this were the last Christmas, would no one then write,
would they care if I’m still here, or give up the fight,
or would most pick another day to think of God’s son,
not remembering the prisoners, and God knows, I’m one.
This life is so precious, it goes by so fast,
and we don’t know if this Christmas will be our last,
so let’s love one another, have hope, forgive and pray,
and live every moment, like it’s the last Christmas day.
