Review

It has now been over a week since I read this novel. And let me tell you…. IT WAS PERFECT!!! It was also kind of all over the place, in a good way.

There was lies (obviously), deals and all kind of crazy games being played. And, if you’ve been following the Dirty Money Series, this is to be expected. Oh my goodness, they way Emily and Shane read each other is the greatest thing honestly.

Okay, I’m getting ahead of myself here. Let’s start from the beginning.

This last novel picks up just moments after the ending of Bad Deeds. And let me tell you, the aftermath is kind of insane. Several people dead, after all we were dealing with the Martina Cartel, one person in critical condition, and another in a coma. Oh my, that’s a lot to take in. And how can we forget the involuntary involvement of Shane’s doctor friend. Damn that cartel.

Then there’s a death and two people survive. Honestly, that death really hurt. I was just starting to like him…

Anyway, them plot twists were really great, and you all know how ambivalent I am to plot twists.

I just love Seth, and Jessica. Honestly though, were would Shane be without those two. As for Emily, well she is one of our main characters and not many authors are brave enough to kill of a main character. And when they do, in my opinion, it was a total mistake (I’m looking at you Divergent and Veronica Roth).

And no that was not a spoiler, at least not for this series. Come on now, y’all know I wouldn’t do that to you.

So yeah, things are mostly good with Shane and Emily. And I say mostly because I don’t know how many times those two were at their wits end with one another. Oh hey, Emily’s business idea was brought to life, so there is that. And that issue with her brother finally gets resolved. How?, you may ask yourself, but you know what I’m going to say: Go read the book!!!

As for the ending, how else would it end? It was a happily ever after, as most of LRJ’s works are. And I quite enjoyed it. Especially that one unexpected news. It was absolutely perfect.

And to how the books was broken up. The first half of the novel was narrated by Shane and the second half by Emily. It threw me for a bit but once I was reading, I realized what was going on. But that’s besides the point.

Either way, I hope you enjoy this novel and ending to this series! I know I did.
