It’s been a staple of mainstream culture for what feels like forever, but it still feels like a bit of a shock to acknowledge that Blondie‘s hit Heart of Glass was first released almost 40 years ago. Yikes.
So, it’s fitting that the song has been flipped and turned into a house-style track that launches a new and exciting musical project in the form of Auxil. Auxil is a duo that has a history of serving some of music’s finest, from 50 Cent to Major Lazer, which explains away the duo’s undeniable talent.
They’re introducing the project in style with the Heart of Glass reworking that twists and turns through groovy house territory, all while Debbie Harry’s FX-tinged vocals sound more intoxicating than ever.
Simply put, it’s an exciting first glimpse at a duo with endless potential and plenty more in store. And even better is the fact that it is available as a free download below.
