review 1: I really enjoyed this book, especially once I had gotten used to Matthew's witty/one liner style of writing. The whole plot was enjoyable and refreshing, and was able to make me laugh one moment and tear up the next. I did find parts a bit tedious, early repition of phrases similar to, "This was Will's dream not mine!" made me angry with Amy but she was a lovely character in the end just trying to do her best. I found myself throughout screaming at her (internally of course) to stop with the move back to London to stay with Guy but she didn't listen, it added to the will they/won't they aspect but was a bit long in my opinion. Still, loved the book and I was a bit sad that it ended.
review 2: I loved reading this one- although I'd expected it to be a bit of... more a weepy. Hamish the dog, is a total star character and made me smile throughout.Amy's husband has a heart scare on the way into work in the city. It makes him re-evaluate his life and they find themselves living in a ramshackle house in the country and lots of animals full of character come to live with them. Unfortunately her husband dies- and she finds herself living his dream and not being sure how she got there.The local vet provides support and essential care- particularly for Hamish who bumbles through leaving havoc around him. less
