It’s been ten years that we have been in Austin, Chelle and I arrived in the same year – me from Seattle and she from Salt Lake City but it would take us eight years to meet. In that time hundreds of thousands of people have joined us. This sea change has brought improvements but we have also been witness to the waves of time washing away old favorites.
The funky old country band tour bus that greeted patrons in the parking lot at the Broken Spoke honky-tonk is gone. As is Strange Brew the coffee shop and music venue where some of Austin’s home grown bands played the intimate lounge over the last thirty years. Also gone is Fran’s Hamburgers, Liberty Lunch, Dog and Duck pub and El Gallo.
The more things change…the more things change – which is good and why we are making our move from Austin.
