Summer is here! The Lithia Artisans Market will be out in force this weekend, braving the heat with 30 artisans showing on Calle Guanajuato along Ashland Creek. The summer solstice passed over us this week, we are grateful for the sunshine and all that it provides.
SAT 10-6 and SUN 11-5
This weekend you will discover all sorts of locally crafted items from some of the regions most talented artists and craft folk. People come from all over the country and converge on this tiny burg of Ashland, making it their art based home. The two Dan’s of the market are both from Chicago, Illinois. Dan Elster is an amazing wildlife photography, while Dan Clark is a gifted silver smith and lapidary artisan. They both have made Ashland their home, primarily to be a part of this market and the art community of southern Oregon.
Featured in the photo above is Rachel Fisher. Rachel is a bold young artist who specializes in brilliantly colorful animal portraits. These images are playful with a touch of mystery. Each image is its own character. She has a way with color and detail that needs to be seen in person to get the full impact. Rachel also does custom pet portraits. Come down and visit Rachel, she a delight to chat with and always working on something new while in her art booth at the market.
