review 1: Another great read about Tom Thorne's life after being demoted for his behaviour during an earlier investigation. He still manages to get Holland,Hendricks and Kitson involved in working under the radar in this investigation into what seems like a series of unconnected suicides.I knew that Quinlan would show up in this book as she was heavily involved in a non-Tom Thorne book recently.Looking forward to seeing how they all get on in the next book
review 2: Probably not the best mark Billingham book. Its the "once top notch copper has a blip, demoted, bit of a maverick, gets up everyone's nose and in the end solves the crime and saves the day" storyline. This usually comes along after the author has written a number of previous successful books and then runs out
... moreof ideas. That said this was good enough (although highly improbable) to make me want to read the earlier ones as I suspect they may well be better. Like the writing style and the characters less

It was a good read! It was a little slow in spots but I stuck with it and the ending was worth it.

Nothing more to say except it is another Mark Billingham creation. He is a master!

I read 200 pages and decided that I really didn't care what happened next.
