Hey girl, hey and happy Sunday! This past Saturday was St. Patrick’s Day. Fun fact for you all, I am in fact part Irish. No, I’m not saying it just so it would give me an excuse to get belligerent and wild on St. Patrick’s Day. My dad’s part of the family actually started back in Ireland. We were known as Le’ Grande back in the day before the family took on the last name Banks. So in honor of St. Patrick’s Day I thought I’d do the Kiss Me I’m Irish book tag once again.
I did this tag last year and I tried hard not to pick the same books or series but it was really hard.
The tag was originally started by Erica SOS Books in 2015. Go and check out her channel! On with the questions!
1) Green – a book with a green book.
Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs. Bam! Easy one again this year! If you have been with me for a while you would know I love the Miss. Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children series so of course I had to get the spin off novel to the series.
2) Blarney – a book that deceived you into either liking it or it was over hyped and you ended up disliking it.
For this one I chose Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I never thought I’d pick this series up. It’s so hyped up in the book community and that style of fantasy is not my cup of tea but I am loving this series! I’m currently finishing up The Assassin’s Blade and I just got Crown of Midnight so I wouldn’t have to wait until my next payday to get it.
3) Brogue or Dialect – a book where one or more of the characters has an accent.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. It’s been a while since I’ve read this book but if I’m not mistaken there are characters with a German accent…I think.
4) Leprechaun – a book you enjoyed when you were a little person.
For this I chose A series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. I started reading this beauty of a series way back in middle school and loved it. I don’t own any books from the series because I rented out the books from our school library but this tag is making me want to start a collection.
5) Pot of Gold- A book that cost a lot or is of great value to you.
Never Go Back by Dr. Henry Cloud. I was given this last year from a member of my church. When I first tried to read it it didn’t make any sense to me. This year I read and it all makes perfect sense. Last year was not my time or my season for reading this novel. Everything has a season. This year I’ve been feeling stuck as to where I should go in terms of my future and this book helped me a lot.
6) Four leaf clover or shamrock – four leaves – more than one book. Pick your favorite series.
This year I chose The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. I love how badass all of the female heroes are. Even the main villain is so badass that I’m sometimes conflicted then I remember she tried to force marriage onto a child in the most basic sense of one of the many plots. Then I remember to hate her again.
7) Magic – a book that you found magical or a book where you enjoyed a magic element that was in the story line.
I know this book is far from literal magic but I still found it magical. Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson really hit home for me. I found it kind of magical how and an introvert found friends on her own and started to really see you don’t really need a person to have a good time. You can make a good time happen on your own.
8) Kiss – your current favorite book pairing or your all time favorite book pairing.
When it comes to book pairings I can’t leave out Magnus and Alec. I love everything that this couple stands for. Magnus and Alec is the first time I’ve personally seen a gay couple represented in young adult fiction and I love it and love how much more representation I’m seeing in young adult genre.
9) Luck – a book on your shelf that you’ll luckily get to…someday.
For this question I chose An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. I know absolutely nothing about this book. I just know I’m in love with the title and the book cover is pretty. I want to get into it just to see what it’s about.
10) Jig – a book you don’t own currently own but if you could get a hold of it – it would make you dance for joy.
I’m patiently waiting for Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare to be released. It’s hard to wait patiently when I really want to snatch it as quickly as possible. But I guess I have to wait patiently with everyone else.
11) Rainbow – that’s you! Tag friends to do this tag!
Well I’m not sure how many people will do this tag days after St. Patrick’s Day tag after St. Patrick’s Day but hey maybe we can turn this into an Irish Pride thing! So I tag whoever wants to do this tag!
