review 1: Melanie, Hawk, and Colton have been best friends since they were kids. School and business keep Colton away for a few years, and when he returns to his small Montana town he sees Melanie as a beautiful woman that he desires. They both try to deny the attraction and their feelings even as the whole town has bet on which day they will finally declare their their love. This is a very well written story with witty dialogue, steamy sex, and likeable characters. I was sorry to see it end.
review 2: Rising Assets is the third book in the Montana Maverick series. I haven't read the first two books yet so I read this as a standalone. I always love stories when friends who have grown up together become involved. Colton and Melanie have such a volatile relationship becaus... moree behind their friendship there has always been feelings each one had been holding back. When the relationship is finally revealed, sparks fly and it makes for a fun short story. less
