This last week has been a good reading week. I’ve gotten a lot done and enjoyed it immensely. I’m excited to get my hands on a couple of books that I’ve been wanting to read for a while. They should be good reads. Fingers crossed!
Bought:
This is fudged a little bit since I found this one when it was having one of two free days. I had to grab it though. The cover is so pretty, plus the first line of the blurb is: “In Illaria, there is a fate worse than death.” Call me intrigued!
Surprise:
I was minding my own business when my daughter came home from school, a rained on package in her hand she snagged off the front porch with my name on it. Low and behold, I open it to find a signed copy of Dragonwatch. Squeal! So excited! I don’t usually like MG books, but I adore the Fablehaven series. I have an inkling of who sent it, but need to find out for sure. It’s super awesome though! And if you were the one who gifted it to my family–THANK YOU!!!
From the Library:
Moonglow is, honestly, one I don’t have high hopes for. The reviews aren’t super great, but I still wanted to give it a try. We’ll see how it goes.
So excited to get my hands on a copy of Wires and Nerve. I adored the Lunar Chronicles! The main series is one of my favorites. To continue the story through Iko? Eeep! She was one of my favorite characters. I have to admit, this is my first graphic novel, but I’m excited about it. Was so excited, in fact, that I already read and reviewed it, lol. Super happy I picked this one up.
Ignite and Endure are ones I’ve wanted to read for a while. I really enjoyed the first book, Defy once I was finally in the mood for a girl disguised as a boy trope. Hopefully the rest of the series doesn’t disappoint.
From NetGalley:
To be honest, I’m not sure how I feel about the cover of this one. When I first saw it I liked it, but the more I look at it, the more I’m feeling meh about it. But, the description caught me when it said:
“Arete are beings that can trace their lineage and powers from ancient Greece. They do not claim their inheritance comes from the gods, rather legend says they are descended from cursed beings, such as Medusa.“
Descended from people like Medusa huh? I’m all over that! I really hope I like this one as my last couple of NetGalley books haven’t done it for me. I want to enjoy this one!
What books have you gotten over the last week?Leave a comment of link up, and I’ll check them out.
