May 2017: wrap up

this May I didn’t read as much books  as I would have liked but the ones I read were really good. I had a must reads list for May which you can find here. There is only one book I haven’t read yet on that list so maybe i will get to it in June. Let’s hope my schedule gets a bit easier on me so that I can find the time. that said these are the books that made it onto my read pile in May.

1. A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

read date: 2 May – 12 May

I think this was the most anticipated book for fantasy lovers and it was number one on my list. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and I can’t wait for the next installment. I loved that it did not end with a cliffhanger which might make the long wait a bit easier….ya right. you can read my review on ACOWAR here

2. Avenged by Amy Tintera

read date: 9 May – 13 May

I really wanted to read this book and it was a book i enjoyed as well. you can find my review here

3. Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh

read date: 17 May – 22 May

if you haven’t read this book already you need to. this is going to be an amazing series, I can already tell. I loved the characters and the setting and the use of Japanese…basically almost everything. you can read my review here

4. The Princess in the Opal Mask by Jenny Lundquist

read date: 26 May – 27 May

I’m glad i read this. this book is a must read and I can’t recommend it enough. it has no magic but it makes up for it in other ways, i rarely read a fantasy story without magic in it but this was a really good one. you can find my review here

5. The Opal Crown by Jenny Lundquist

read date: 28 May – 29 May

this was a perfect conclusion to this story and luckily does not suffer from second book syndrome. the story only gets better and there is non stop action in this one as well. there is never a dull moment with these books which just made me stay up late reading. here is my review

6.The Kingmaker’s Daughter by Philippa Gregory

read date: 12 May – 26 May

this story will get you hooked in no time. this book has made me interested in reading more historical fiction because of its awesomeness. there were a few things I didn’t like but overall it was a good story and well told as well. this is my review

so in total I only read 6 books. I have to say, I’m a bit disappointed with  myself. I have to do better in June. If I can finish every book on my TBR list this June then I will have made reading progress. that is if I do not DNF some of them.

happy reading
