Milan and Lake Como For the Weekend

Milan is the perfect place for a quick getaway from London. With the flight time being only 2 hours from London, it is a super easy trip. The city is full of stunning architecture, making your hours of walking enjoyable. Since the city is relatively small, I recommend staying near the Duomo so you are in walking distance to all the best sites.

Some of the breath taking art and architecture you’ll see while walking around – so make sure you always look up!

While in Italy you definitely need to indulge in their delicacies!

Don’t forget to take a break from exploring with some cocktails, I happened to come across Dolce and Gabbana’s Bar Martini, which was the perfect resting point with Instagramable drinks.

Then from Milan I suggest heading to Bellagio, Lake Como. To get to Bellagio it’s a super quick 1 hour train ride from Milano Centrale to Varenna-Esino. From Varenna you can take a 15-minute ferry ride to Bellagio. Lake Como is such a dreamy destination, with the many little towns, I would recommend spending a night in Bellagio and Tremezzo. Each town has their own special little flavors, but they all have breathtaking views and a lakeside charm. I spent just over one day there but I would recommend staying at least 2-3 because then you can take the ferry to visit all of the little towns along the lake.

Almost every restaurant on Lake Como will offer you these stunning views of the bright blue water.

I highly recommend making sure you get a lick of the decedent Italian gelato!

I stopped in Tremezzo for the day and urge you to check out the famous Grand Hotel Tremezzo!

If you’re not staying at the hotel, come sit outside and enjoy their dreamy views and facilities!

Don’t forget to snap a selfie in their gorgeous photo worthy bathrooms before you leave!
