Mister Goshawk

I wrote this song after being inspired by a short story that was written by a friend that I really loved.  I thought the concept showed a lot of promise and hence decided to write a song about it just for fun.  I decided to change a few things a bit, while still keeping the general vibe, content and themes of the story in place, but just expanding on it and giving it a bit of a twist. I wrote it with the musical style of the band Running Wild in mind.  Anyway here it is:

When I was young, still just a child,
after fourteen years of madness.
I found a friend, my very best friend,
my invisible friend.
His name was Mister Goshawk.

Mister Goshawk, My best friend.
Mister Goshawk, together until the end.
Mister Goshawk, How do you do?
Mister Goshawk, Oh how I love you.

Flying high through the sky.
Watch him pass you by.
Wailing like an air raid siren,
swooping from high unto low.
No, that’s not a hawk.
That is Mister Goshawk.

Flying through the centuries,
always by my side.
Saviour of humanity, protector of mankind.
From his holy vengeance, evil cannot hide.
Oooohhhh Yyyyeeeaaaahhhhhh.

Mister Goshawk, My best friend.
Mister Goshawk, together until the end.
Mister Goshawk, How do you do?
Mister Goshawk, Oh how I love you.

The infernal abyss is opening, the armies of hell arise.
Is this armageddon?
Is this the day humanity dies?
Whoa no, Mister Goshawk.
We need a hero, be our hero.
Save us from this deadly fate.
