My Torin- K. Webster

About this book:

I’m a freak, a misfit, an odd end.
Abandoned and unloved.
But my happiness is so close I can taste it.

Until he shows up.

Gorgeous, expensive, and all man.
Sad brown eyes and a brilliant smile.
And he wants me to go with him.

His intentions are hidden.
His motives are unclear.
Yet, I leave with him because there’s no happiness here.

What he promises feels too good to be true…
A castle. A fortune. And horses too.

It’s too easy.
Nothing in my life has ever been easy.

What’s the catch?
There’s always a catch.

Release Date: 9th January, 2018.

What I think?

I. Love. Webster.

Enough said.

Kristi never disappoints. Never. And once again, she has out done herself with this fantastic book. I never really take Kristi’s books to be emotional, mostly because the one’s I read were brilliant but dark in the way it didn’t make you cry, but I think she’s been wanting to fuck with her reader’s minds, because her last two books- The Day She Cried, and My Torin- not only fuck with your heads, but also your hearts. And even though I know I’m going to contradict myself with her next release, I seriously think that My Torin was one of her most unique books. Along with a long line of others. Duh.

Casey Doe. Tyler Kline. Torin Kline.

Three people bound together with not only love and life, but also death and fate.

18 years in the system has turned Casey into a jaded woman, convinced of her inability of being loved. 32 years of looking after and protecting his brother has made Tyler Kline thirsty for human contact. 25 years of being barely understood, and being unable to connect with anyone since his mother’s death has made Torin Kline hungry for someone to be his.

You see where I’m going with this, don’t you?

For most of the better part of this book, I thought it was going to be a love triangle. But man, it was just so much better than just a love triangle. This book made my heart race and break and fall in love and shatter and then die and then get resurrected, because I couldn’t get over Torin, and then just fall fall fall in love with them.

Seriously, Torin is The. Best. Webster. Hero. EVER.

Why?

She is my woman. And I don’t care if I have to write them both an email, attaching a forty-page PowerPoint presentation explaining that she’s mine, because I will.

I rest my case people.

All the three characters were so authentic and real that I couldn’t help but feel like they were me, and they were you and they were every single person that would be reading this book. Webster threw every single trope put of the window when she made Casey point out how creepy it was for Tyler to be purchasing her. I burst out laughing because man! We all think that, but how come the characters never do?! But Casey did, and so did Tyler, and every single time they did, I loved them a little deeper.

You know what? There isn’t much I can say about this book anyways without spoiling the story for you, so let me just ask Torin what he thinks of his own story.

Ari: So, did Kristi do justice to your and Casey’s love story?
Torin: NO.

Ari: OK, well I guess you’d say that, because after all it is a little hard to put feelings into words. But what do you think about Casey loving your brother Tyler?
Torin: NO.

Ari: Yeah I don’t think I’d wanna think about that either if I were you. Sorry man. But how much do you miss Tyler?
Torin:

Ari: Sorry, that was very insensitive of me. To better things. Casey. What’s the best thing you love about Casey?
Torin: She is mine.

Ari: *whistles and swoons* Just tell us how much..?
Torin: I breathelicktastetouchsmellfeelneed her.

Well then ladies and gentlemen, I guess that concludes this book. Read it, and I’d say this after every single book of Webster’s, and not just because it’s so well written, but because reading her books change the way you look at the world. She’ll write you a fairy tale- a fucked up, twisted one where the princess gets tortured and the knight is the one torturing her- but a fairy tale with a happy ending nonetheless. One that satisfies you even when you don’t recognize that you needed it.
