Guys it’s 2018!! Oh my goodness I feel like it was just last week that it was 2017, oh wait it was. This year was the 12th time that Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy hosted from Time Square in New York City. Not only was there a big celebration in New York but also hotspots like Los Angeles and New Orleans! Millions of people show up in the close to zero temperatures to watch it in person but even more watched it live on ABC starting at 8PM.
Performers from all genres put on shows for all of us to enjoy. Ciara hosted the Los Angeles party which featured Kane Brown, Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, Portugal. The Man and Hailee Seinfeld just to name a few.
Each year this event is a highlight to end the year and begin the new year with. Mariah Carey was one of the singers to take center stage in Time Square. When one simple request turned into 2018’s first meme. During Mariah Carey’s set she stopped in between songs and told the crowd the she had been promised hot tea to soothe her vocal cords in the 12°F temperature. However she soon discovered that there was going to be no hot tea for the queen of pop. “Happy New Year! Just want to take a sip of tea if they’ll let me,” she said. “They told me there would be tea. Oh, it’s a disaster. Okay, well, we’ll just have to rough it. I’m going to be like everybody else, with no hot tea.”
This year I hope will be a year of new beginning and new opportunities to get the best out of people! Happy New Year!!!
