Pay no mind to the coming end

On the one hand, the Three of Cups; children laughing at the world. On the other, Death, clear across the universe from their joyful existence. The children know no fear, they have no knowledge of what there is to be afraid of. They will learn soon enough though.

The Queen of Swords has knowledge and wisdom in abundance, but it has come from a life of hard lessons. The Two, the Three, the Five, the Seven, and the Eight Nine Ten of Swords, are the most brutal experiences the Minor Arcana have to offer. The Queen has suffered through them all, and perhaps gained a rather severe perspective on the world. She certainly knows that those golden yellow years of abundance shine for only a short time, and end before we even realize how beautiful they were. But even in her bitterness, here she seems to be looking out at us and demanding that we pay attention to the joyful times while they’re still with us. Death will come, but she seems to point to the Three and say, “this is what’s important”. Hold onto the joy, right up until the moment Death arrives.
