Title – Love My Way
Author – Kate Sterritt
Publication Date – May 31, 2017
Her name is Emerson Hart and she is the love of his life.
Unfortunately, he’s not the only love of hers.
And therein lies the problem.
How do I begin to review a book that so profoundly marked my soul? Kate Steritt’s Love My Way is the first book I have read by this author but she has reeled me in – hook, line, and sinker. The story was beautifully poignant with realistic characters and genuine, heartfelt emotions. I quite literally had knots in my stomach throughout the read, yet I was unable to put it down. If you get no farther reading this review, just trust me when I say it’s a game changer.
“Instead of seeing broken pieces, he sees the warrior within.”
The heroine, Emerson, was one that I was instantly drawn to. Whether Sterritt was describing the lonely home life or the difficult situations as she grew older, I could see pieces of myself in her. She was a fighter, and a survivor, no matter what she faced. While there were times I wanted to pity her, her strength and resilience forced me to feel nothing but sympathy for her instead. There’s something about the way Emerson is written that had me falling in love and rooting for her from the very first moment she was introduced. The leading men are also phenomenal, and will undoubtedly make readers swoon, but Emerson stole the show for me. Love My Way was her journey and I felt it down to my very core.
“Running from this is pointless, but so is standing still hoping something is going to change.”
Not only was I impressed with the character development, but Sterritt’s writing also blew me out of the water. So many times, I could feel my breath being stolen away as my heart skipped numerous beats. Even though I had an inkling of where the ending was going, the plot was poignant and beautifully written, which resulted in the journey of a lifetime. Love My Way was a story of love and loss, and how humans can find light even when all hope has disappeared. Simply put, this story is impossible not to love. As I’ve stated, this was my first Sterritt book but with all those feels, I promise it’s not my last. I laughed and cried and felt utterly inspired; I definitely cannot wait for more from this very talented lady!
(I desperately NEED more stars!)
