review 1: Retired DC police detective Mary Singer is asked to help a friend with an unofficial investigation into several seemingly unrelated beating and murders of local police in the DC metro area. Singer thinks it may be gang related possibly to a new gang wanting to take over the local drug trade. What caught my interest was the fact that I lived in the area form many years and actually worked and lived in one of the spots that played a role in the story.

However, knowing nothing about the drug/gang issue COULD be the reason why I didn't feel all warm-and-fuzzy about this book, which then isn't the author's fault. But I did find Marty Singer a right likable guy. less
