Review: Undermajordomo Minor

Hi everyone, happy Monday! Today I’m going to be reviewing Patrick DeWitt’s novel Undermajordomo Minor.

Undermajordomo Minor

Undermajordomo Minor by: Patrick DeWitt: Lucien, known to everyone has Lucy, is a bit of an odd duck, but when he finds employment in a remote castle he soon finds out that there are many dark secrets to be had. Lucy’s fascination for violent things gets him into some mischief and some sticky situations. This was quite an interesting novel; it didn’t feel conventional. The reader follows the main character Lucy, who is unconventional and odd. He makes for this really intriguing character because he’s so unpredictable and that leaves the plot in part in suspense. The novel did start off a bit rocky and the reader wasn’t sure what was really going on; it took some time to break in the main character and his role in the story, but once the reader got into the story everything just took off. The fact that there were also short chapters helped aid the reader through the story. It was definitely a different read, a different perspective yet quite engaging.
