What an interesting city, Bath! Not only does it have a university called Bath Spa University, one of its top attractions are the Roman Baths! Also, the entire city is a World Heritage Site. So, being a Bathonian, (yes that is the name for people living in Bath!), you must be used to tourists (and teddy bears) all the time.
The waters at the Roman Baths look nice and warm. They come from underground springs. But you cannot swim in these waters. They are not safe and may contain diseases. Once, they found a dangerous brain-eating amoeba in the waters!!
So, I took extra care not to fall in by leaning one side on this pillar next to the main pool.
We also came to this room in the Roman Baths which looked interesting. To me, it looked like the pieces on a chess board or a Roman who really like to carefully stack his collection of tiles neatly in rows.
Of course I was wrong. It’s actually an old Roman sauna. The picture below shows how it worked. Those Romans sure know how to pamper themselves.
