This is the third installment in the Camelot Reborn series and I have anxiously been awaiting its release. Fortunately for me, the author reached out to me to review her book. I was supposed to have the book read and reviewed by its release date, which was July 1st. So needless to say I’m a horrible blogger since I’m just now getting around the the review, even though I finished the book about a week ago.
If you follow my blog and read my review of the second book in the series, Enchanted Guardian, then you know I was really wanting this story to be about Arthur and that’s exactly what we got!
This book was all about King Arthur and Queen Guinevere’s love story. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about these two! I was not expecting to this kind of story in this book, but I’m really glad this is the route it took.
I loved Guinevere from the very first page she made an appearance. She was just a well written character and I sympathize with her so much. The struggle she faced throughout the whole story was one I could relate to. Her decision to be who everyone expected her to be or to be who she wanted to be in this new time she was brought to.
King Arthur on the other hand, I really didn’t like him before this book because he was seriously just a jerk. For most of this story he still was a major douche, but I think the fact that we got to see more inside of his head and what his intentions were helped to soften me towards him. By the end he completely redeemed himself. AND PRAISE JESUS HE DID because I love this series and I really didn’t like despising a character! LOL
There were so many things to love about this book. I wish I could get my hands on a physical copy of all 3 books in the series, that’s how much I loved them!
Of course, I ‘m still absolutely loving the Camelot tie in! That makes things so interesting and unlike anything I’ve ever read before. I enjoy it so much!
There is however, a new villain in this story who I hate even more than Morgan LaFaye. Or maybe that’s the issue. Morgan LaFaye was such an awesome villain that his new one just couldn’t stand a chance. The only thing he was good at was animal cruelty and I HATED HIM WITH A PASSION! So much that I can’t even remember his name. LOL
I know the series isn’t over because the main premise/issue of the story hasn’t happened yet, but I’m not sure where the next installment could be going. Maybe we will finally get to see a love story for Merlin! That would be awesome. But that’s just me guessing and the story could literally lead anywhere. That being said, I cannot wait of the next book!
I received this book in exchange for my completely honest review! Thank you to Sharon Ashwood for always keeping me in mind for reading her books and I hope you will think of me for the next installment as well!
Have you read this series yet? Do you enjoy reading about magic and love stories? Well then you definitely need to pick up the first book in this series, Enchanted Warrior, ASAP!
