The Infinite Sea (The 5th Wave #2) by Rick Yancey
Rating: 4/5 stars
My Thoughts:
I’m kind of conflicted but I do think this was a pretty good sequel!
So this book starts off where I believe the first one left off, it’s been a few years since I read that one though so if it wasn’t from seeing the movie a few days ago, I wouldn’t remember anyone at all.
The Infinite Sea kind of takes a while to start off, about over a hundred pages. Basically it was just Cassie and friends sitting around a rat-infested hotel and then just complaining at each other about what to do next. Once it jumped POVs, things really picked up though.
And really, my favorite thing about this book was how it was split into parts that jumped from POV to POV. It would have been helpful if it said whose POV it was instead of having to figure it out yourself though.
Ringer was honestly my favorite. She was tough and said things like they were, and we even got her backstory. Cassie was a bit… annoying. She sees a pretty female who used to know her boyfriend and she just thought some pretty immature bitchy things. Her and Evan also just kept staring into each other’s eyes and I just didn’t see much development of their relationship. I am really glad that the love triangle I’d thought would happen wasn’t even a thing though But a relationship I loved was Ringer and Razor, they were so sweet together.
The ending was pretty crazy with a twist that was quite confusing and came out of nowhere but the book ended with a bang and I am really excited for the final book.
