The Intimidating TBR Tag!

Hey everyone! I know this tag is quite old now but I really want to do it! I have a huge TBR pile I think around 70 books. It was nearly 100 at one point though so I have got it down quite a bit! So this seems like a good tag to help me decide which ones I am most excited to read. So lets get into it!

I’m not sure who created this tag! I looked on YouTube and the original video was deleted! All credit goes to the original creator whoever that is!

1) What book have you been unable to finish?

I have been unable to finish A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. I really enjoyed the first book A Court of Thorns and Roses but for some reason I just couldn’t get into A Court of Mist and Fury. I just didn’t enjoy the plot or the writing as much as I did the first one. I am hoping to try and pick it up again before the third book comes out but at the minute I’m just not in the mood for it. I think the size of it intimidates me because it’s just HUGE. It’s putting me off.

2) What book do you have yet to read, but just haven’t had the time?

Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth. I read the first 60 pages I think but I just haven’t had time to pick it back up yet. I have heard lots of bad things about it so that’s probably contributing to my lack of motivation to read it. I will read it though! I want to see if her writing has changed any since Allegiant. She has two POVs again and since Allegiant was absolutely terrible for that I’m curious to see if she has managed to improve on that. One reads in first person and the other third person so maybe that will help separate the two of them better.

3) What book do you have yet to read because it’s a sequel?

Definitely Rebel Spring by Morgan Rhodes. I loved the first book and I purchased this one as soon as I finished it. I am so excited to read it because it looks awesome and the cover is gorgeous. I love all of the characters and I really can’t wait to see what happens next. I haven’t had time to pick it up yet because I have been reading books that have been sent to me by publishers and authors. But SOON.

4) What book do you have yet to read because it is brand new?

Perfect by Cecelia Ahern! It came out this month actually and it’s on my TBR! I read the first few pages but I’m going to finish my current read so I can devote all of my time to this book. It’s the last book in the story so hopefully it will be pretty exciting! It’s a really good story and I love the characters.

5) What book do you have yet to read because you read a book by the same author and didn’t enjoy it?

I have yet to read Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas but I have been putting it off because there’s so much hype surrounding it and because I really didn’t enjoy A Court of Mist and Fury. I have heard that Throne of Glass and A Court of Thrones and Roses are similar and have similar characters so I’m worried that I won’t like Throne of Glass now! I just don’t know if Sarah’s books are for me but I’m still willing to give it a try.

6) What book do you have yet to read because you’re just not in the mood for it?

For this one I’d say A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir. I read the first book An Ember in the Ashes and I absolutely loved it! It was one of my favourite books. The story and the writing was incredibly, it blew me away. I was eager for the second book but ever since I got my hands on it, I haven’t been in the mood for it! I think it might be because we have to wait until 2018 for the next book. I don’t see the point in reading it now if I have to wait so long for the next one. But then I’m worried if I leave it too long, I’ll eventually lose interest in this series altogether? Ahh! It’s so hard being a book lover sometimes.

7) What book do you have yet to read because it’s humongous?

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. I got this in the March FairyLoot box and it is freaking massive! It’s absolutely huge! I wasn’t even planning on reading this because I didn’t have any interest in it but now I feel like I have to read it. But the size of it!

8) What book do you have yet to read because it is a cover buy that ended up not having very good reviews?

Yeah… I still haven’t read Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard! I was going to but then I found out there is going to be a fourth book in the series? Why is everything like a six book series now? Whatever happened to standalone’s and trilogies? I mean I don’t mind series but I think now it’s getting a bit ridiculous because literally everything is turning into a series!

9) What is the most intimidating book on your TBR?

A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin! This book is seriously huge, it’s such a fat paperback! Since the TV show is so popular I was super curious about the books and really wanted to give the first one a try! I really like the new covers, they are so beautiful. This book is definitely intimidating with the size of it and what it’s about! Plus so many people die in these books! But I have to give it a try because I’m a curious book lover.

There we have it! These are the books that stood out for me most when I thought of this tag! I am super late doing it but it was a lot of fun! I’d love to know some of your intimidating books? Do we share any? I hope you guys enjoyed and thank you so much for reading!
