Robert Ellis is an author and filmmaker from Los Angeles, California, who has recently moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut, and now lives on Long Island Sound. Primarily known for his extensively researched crime novels, and, according to the Chicago Tribune, his intense weave of plot and fully realized characters, Robert Ellis released his latest thriller, The Love Killings, in 2016.

The Love Killings is the author’s second installment in the Detective Matt Jones series and picks up shortly after the conclusion of the first novel, City of Echoes. The titular Detective Jones is eager to tie up the loose ends from a previous case, but is sidetracked by the reemergence of an old enemy, the serial killer Dr. George Baylor.

The Love Killings, along with City of Echoes, has received critical praise and an enthusiastic response from readers with more than 2,000 customer reviews on Amazon. In a starred review from Booklist, City of Echoes was called “staggering.” While Ellis completes work on his third novel in the Detective Matt Jones series, readers might be interested in other books by Ellis, including Access to Power and The Dead Room, or the critically acclaimed Detective Lena Gamble series, beginning with City of Fire, which the New York Times added to their Hot List Picks for the year.
