If reviews are anything to go by, this psychologically disturbing novel well on it’s way to becoming so.
SEETHINGS is a relatively new title (2014). It’s published through Kindle and Amazon, written by Australian author Michael Forman. He promotes it online through social media and his niche-styled website. Yes, it’s a self-published title but don’t let that put you off. This book packs a punch!
A Psychologically Disturbing Novel To FrightenJust when you think everything that can be written into fiction has been done so, another author comes along to challenge everything you believe. This one is simple in it’s foundation stone – a sexless marriage gone wrong – but then takes a reader’s emotion and private sex lives to screw with their headspace. This author hits a very raw nerve. Readers won’t sit still when they turn his pages.
I wriggled as I read, chewed nails, pencils and the heads off anyone who interrupted me. It’s one nasty tale of well-written emotional torments culminating into an explosive and unexpected outcome. It’s neo-noir, erotica, thriller and horror all rolled into a single narrative. And it’s been done well, I might add
At times, it’s highly disturbing. Some light-stomached readers would do better to read Stephen King for a bit of respite. I found myself shouting at the characters trying to right their wrongs but realizing that nothing I did changed the devious disaster that was about to unfold. Forman has brought the worst of us out in a novel and turned it into something quite extraordinary.
The book is 381 pages long and definitely well worth the read.
‘Forman’s writing style is artful, with the protagonist Mitchell’s warped thought processes masterfully exposed. The author has a powerful and vivid command of language and his word pictures are stark and disturbingly real.’ – Linda J Bettenay, author of ‘Secrets Mothers Keep’ and ‘Wishes For Starlight’
