review 1: The very moment I realized there existed a sequel to Illusions, I downloaded it without question. Illusions changed my life the first time I read it close to 15 years ago, and I still sight it as one of my favorite books. I also had a copy of The Messiah's Handbook that I carried around with me on my own travels. But this book... hugely disappointing in almost every aspect. The only reason I gifted it 2 stars rather than one is because I was so happy to see Donald Shimoda, and it seemed like he hadn't changed a whole lot from the first book (perhaps a little more cynical 35 years later??).Illusions II is poorly written... several passages I had to read over and over again to grasp what he was getting at. Poor sentence structure, poor comma placement, and often times (at... more least for the kindle version) poor editing in general. In addition, it is repetitive, and so spiritual it almost seems religious, which totally turned me off.If you loved Illusions as much as I did... give this one a pass. I'll file this one under an hour or two I won't get back. What a bummer.
review 2: I read this book back in February. Here are my thoughts.I have always loved Richard Bach but I can't give this book 5 stars based on loyalty rather than honest criticism.I was expecting this book to feel insightful and new but instead I felt it held back a lot of emotion and feeling and I particularly expected at least some reflections on Richard's life while he went through this experience. I would have liked these to be spoken by Richard and not Donald Shimoda or the ferrets. What I'm trying to say was that this book held a wall up against any vulnerability or lessons learnt. At least it felt that way.It was however, lovely to know that Richard is doing well and to hear about his courageous and fast recovery experience.Perhaps naming the book 'Illusions II' leaves readers expecting the same high standard and insights as written in 'Illusions'.I continue to cherish Richard's other books. less

I much preferred the original Illusions, although it was a somewhat interesting read.

A little too metaphysical for me. I only really liked his original Illussions book.

Not as good as Illusions, and even further out, but still engaging.

Disjointed. Hard to follow.
