Goodreads:Clover Quinn was a surprise. She used to imagine she was the good kind, now she’s not sure. She’d like to ask Dad about it, but growing up in the saddest chapter of someone else’s story is difficult. She tries not to skate on the thin ice of his memories.
Darren has done his best. He’s studied his daughter like a seismologist on the lookout for waves and surrounded her with everything she might want – everything he can think of, at least – to be happy.
What Clover wants is answers. This summer, she thinks she can find them in the second bedroom, which is full of her mother’s belongings. Volume isn’t important, what she is looking for is essence; the undiluted bits: a collection of things that will tell the full story of her mother, her father and who she is going to be.
But what you find depends on what you’re searching for.
My Review: I would like to thank Carys Bray, Hutchinson and Netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC of The Museum Of You. I can confirm that I chose to read this ARC and all opinions in this review are my own and are completely unbiased.
The Museum Of You has been on my tbr pile for a while now, and it’s always been one of those books where I kept looking at it and the cover kept screaming at me that ‘this is going to be one of those books where once I’ve read it I’m going to be distraught that it’s over’ and you know what … it really truly is!!!
The Museum Of You has really got to me. What a stunning cosy family tale that explores the most beautiful way to deal with grief in such a way that isn’t low or downtrodden, but uplifting. It’s a tale which has left me smiling and is so intricately woven with an array of the most comfortable and snuggled down goodness, that I devoured it and once finished … I have to admit to truly being gutted that I won’t get this chance again, and massively jealous of those still to read it.
Carys Bray has written an honest story of the relationship between a father and his daughter on coping with grief, and upon reading this (I recommend you purchase this NOW), you’ll be drawn in and swallowed up into their lives.
