The Darling Dahlias
review 1: Embelzment --R. O'Neill Greenhow (Rose -- the confederate Rose-- spy -- shipwrecked and drowned because of hidden gold coins.)interesting side story about negative effects of potions for weight loss. perfect example of good historical COZY mystery includes references to contempary items to period being portrayed i.e. pg 192-- listing of novel of the time period including novice writer, Ellery Queen, Maltese Falcone by Dashiell Hammett and SS Van Dyne.

The ladies solve their problems by group action that is quite often original and always amusing. The Confederate Rose, third in this series, is the best so far of an excellent group. I am now moving on to the fourth book "The Darling Dahlias and the Texas Star." less
