SPOILERS!!!
Things are getting clearer about what happened at the camp. Grace is intent to get Chesham behind bars, but she has no support. Pitman, her boss, tells her that she has no case. Yet, her intention to go against Chesham to protect these girls increases when Duncan finally confesses to her that he suffered abuse when he was a child. His stepfather abused him for years, and made him believe he had seduced him. Poor Duncan. After his confession, Grace is even more eager to prove that Chesham is a paedophile. Yet, she finds herself in a cul-de-sac.
Then she thinks of the only way to bring Chesham to justice. So she calls Ivo from a phone box, and he promises that he will post the information about Operation Mayfly in his newspaper. The reactions are instant, and Grace feels safe of being accused of leaking information onto the press because Villiers was the first to contact Ivo.
Soon Chesham is arrested, but he is still confident that the accusations are unfair, and he oozes all his charm. The man is such a cynic, and Grace and her two men Duncan and Blake feel disgusted. Chesham is not forthcoming, but Grace hopes that they can find something against him or any more accusations other than Jane Wheeler’s.
At the same time Helen Fry is arrested when forensics found DNA belonging to Merrick in the car and there was a dry leaf that was consistent with the terrain in the camp. Grace had discovered that Helen is Meghan’s aunt, and she also finds out that Helen was a patient of Dr Chesham twenty years ago, and she was one of his first patients. While questioning her, Grace realises that Helen is a very damaged woman, and even though it is clear that Chesham abused her when she was very young, the woman doesn’t see it in the wrong way. Grace thinks that Merrick called Helen to tell her that he had seen Chesham doing something improper to Meghan, and Grace thinks that she drove there to kill him either because she wanted to protect Chesham or because she was jealous of her niece and couldn’t hear the truth from Merrick. I know that Helen is another victim, but I can’t feel sorry for her. How could she be so horrible to let Chesham do that to poor Meghan? I hope justice is delivered, and these two get what they deserve.
