To all the ladies in the place with style & grace

If you look around now do you notice any rappers wearing denim jackets with their stage name airbrushed on the back? Neither do I. The fashion industry has definitely evolved from the 1970s to now. It is all about the brand. It is what you make of it and who wears it and how they wear it. Most artist even sponsor the brand to help make it a better name and basically advertise. Drake and Migos came together to do a song on Verace, and also back in the 1990s Aaliyah rocked Tommy Hilfiger.

Another hot trendy female artist who not only help make a brand come back to life but also started her own is Rihanna. She is the face of Puma as she advertises and “puts” her name on the new merchandise that gets put out to where it is no longer Puma’s shoe, but Rihanna’s shoe. She just recently made her own make up line called Fenty Beauty.

Salt and Pepa became known as a “fly girl” in the mid 1980’s becoming trend setters in the fashion industry. Their leather jackets, big gold hoop earrings, tights is what made the image what it was. This group wasn’t afraid of “flippin the script” by wearing clothes that accent their lady features which undermined the standards of beauty of Black women’s bodies.
