review 1: This is the first one in the Penny Brannigan mysteries. Since I started with book 3 I would recommend that new readers begin with this one and try to read them in order as relationships develop over the course of the series and some degree of suspense is lost knowing that some suspects are later supporting characters of other books. This one is a lovely introduction to Penny and how she meets the various people that inhabit the books later. She has lived in Wales for 25 years but this is her first involvement in a murder.
review 2: This is the first book in the Penny Brannigan Mystery series. The story is set in Wales and features Penny Brannigan, a woman who owns a manicure business. Her best friend has just died. The town is preparing for a wedding of a local
... more landowner and a woman from London. Peggy gets involved when it is discovered that she was the last to see the bride to be before she disappeared. It was an easy enjoyable read. less

A classic cosy mystery. Small village, large manor house, a nosy parker, and a spinster or two.
