As hardcore bookworms we always come across great books. But how often is it that we come across many books by the same author that are equally amazing? And the authors also tend to be super cool people? The answer (for us at least) is “rarely” but that doesn’t mean there aren’t enough to be put into a top 5 category.
So here’s our list of authors we look up to. Because if we can write stories like them, our life would be set!*
*Completely ignores the fact that just writing really good books doesn’t mean fame because the publishing industry is a fire maze.
#1 Maggie StiefvaterTell me the truth! Did you really think she wouldn’t be on our list?? Honestly, this is such a recurring theme and we don’t regret it one bit. The way she writes her characters and her writing style is just so mesmerizing. You should totally study her books.
#2 Rick RiordanHe’s been our all time favourite. An author who does diversity right because he knows just HOW important it is for young kids to see themselves in books. We love you Uncle Rick!
#3 J.K.RowlingWe love her! Who doesn’t? Harry Potter is the kind of book that has stuck with an entire generation of kids and it will continue to do so. Being able to learn the way she puts together her characters and plots would be of so much help!
#4 Brandon SandersonAgain, no surprise here. But still, he deserves a special mention for all the amazing author tips and videos he has out there on the wide web. He’s always happy to give budding writers useful advice when it comes to writing.
Here’s a link to where you can find some for yourself!
#5 Elif BatumanThis Turkish-American author is a special Beez request. She is absolutely in LOVE with The Idiot by Elif Batuman and keeps ranting about how she aspires to write books like her. Needless to say, I’m super pumped to read and review them for you guys soon.
That’s our list! Let us know if you agree and if you’ve written your own T5W then don’t forget to drop us a link down in the comments~
