Top 5 Wednesday: Books From Before You Joined

Hey Ya’ll!

This weeks’ Top 5 Wednesday is:

Some of your favorite books from before you joined the online book community, whether that be booktube, goodreads, blogs, bookstagram, twitter, tumblr, etc.

This was actually kind of hard for me, because most of the books I read before joining Goodreads were books I don’t really remember. It’s been so long, I probably couldn’t tell you what half of these are about. Most of these will be the names of series, because as far back as I can remember I don’t read standalones much.

Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer

This series actually got me back into reading after what seemed like years of not reading all that much. It’s still a pleasure to read, and no, I don’t care that it’s problematic. Just looking at the book covers again makes me want to insta-buy the whole series so I can reread it for the first time since like 2010.

The Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater

I very vaguely remember reading this series in junior high or high school. I know it was good, that there were wolves, and that I read the entire series in two days. Other than that I can’t remember much, but I would definitely re-read it.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

I loved this series. Very teen angsty, with vampire drama. I actually reread this series occasionally, and it’s still as good as the first time I read it. P.S. even on the first read I almost went into a reading slump on like the third or fourth book, but it gets better.

The House of Night Series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

This was a very long series, but I definitely think it was fun to read. Very angsty, lots of witches and magic and vampires. There’s some ships, friendships, and drama and I’m honestly so ready to read it again.

The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins

I abso-friggin-lutely LOVED this series. The books were obviously better, but they even did an amazing job with the movies! The ending is such a min-blower, Katniss is badass, and the political twists and turns that occasionally appeared made me super happy. I don’t know if Suzanne Collins has written any other books but I would read them in a heartbeat.

(EXTRA) The Graceling Trilogy by Kristin Cashore

C’mon ya’ll, don’t act like you didn’t see this one coming. I actually read this series before I was ever on Goodreads, and it remains my favorite series of all time TO THIS DAY. It has romance, a badass heroine, adventure, intrigue, political and military take-downs, secrets, and dealing with not only with disabilities and discrimination, but being blamed for the wrongs your parents committed. It literally is everything you could ever want to read and I demand you read it. Right now.

So that’s all for this Top 5 Wednesday! Stop by next week to read about my favorite Bromances!
