In August of 2016, after Trump bullied his way into the Republican Party’s presidential nomination, his campaign was floundering. To his rescue came Billionaire Robert Mercer who had previously organized and funded Ted Cruz’ failed effort to win the nomination.
Mercer placed Steve Bannon in the Trump campaign as its CEO, and Kellyanne Conway as the ‘Campaign Manager.’ The truth was that Bannon ran the campaign while Conway became Trump’s personal ‘spin doctor.’ The rest is history. A combination of events including interference by Russian agents gifted Trump the Electoral College by just 77,000 votes; Hillary won the popular vote by nearly three million.
After Trump was officially the ‘illegitimate president elect,’ the first choice he made for his White House staff was Steve Bannon. His title; ‘Chief Strategist.’ I took this to mean that Bannon would be running the White House. His second appointment was Reince Priebus in an obvious effort to satisfy the Republican Establishment. His title was ‘Chief of Staff,’ and it was commonly known that it was a mostly ceremonial title.
When Michael Wolff’s new book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” was revealed yesterday, it contained multiple interviews with former employees who worked in the White House. Close friends and staff offered an extremely unflattering assessment of Donald J. Trump. Comments went as far as calling Trump an ‘immature child,’ and claiming that he is ‘semi-illiterate.’ He refuses to and is unable to read or engage in serious discussion for more than a few minutes.
The most damning accusations were made by the man who was once Trump’s closest friend and associate in the White House, Steve Bannon. Bannon not only lambasted your illegitimate president for his lack of mental competency, he attacked Trump’s family and questioned their existence on the White House staff. At one point he stated that Ivanka is “as dumb as a brick,” and accused Jared of ‘money laundering.’ Bannon referred to the June 9th meeting in Trump Tower, organized by Don Jr. as ‘traitorous’ and a violation of election policies.
The accusations continued by many other individuals; all of whom questioned Trump’s qualifications to perform the job for which he was elected. He is described as a danger to our nation. Trump is nothing more than a greedy narcissist who has no right to claim the title of President of the United States.
