I must have been living under a rock to have missed this book but I loved everything about it. I loved the family drama, the biker drama and the love drama. It was sweet and sassy all wrapped up in a nice little package and was so much fun to read!
This story follows Jess and Duane- and I would say it’s more of a combination of friends/enemies to lovers. They have known each other since kids and Duane has been in love with Jess from the time she left him naked in a lake by skillfully removing and throwing his shorts in the trees. Something about old familiar love makes me happy and this gave me all the feels! I love how detailed the book is about the family back story, how each character was developed and how the story played out. The book kept me so interested I finished it in one day- and to me that’s always a good sign.
I give this book five stars because not only of the things mentioned above, but because this author seems to be the kind whose stories speak to me. They are real enough to make you think it’s true story but fairy tale enough to keep you smiling from ear to ear. And she can write a romance book that’s for sure! I’m so glad I ended the year on this book and can’t wait to see what else Penny Reid has for me to read!
The good news is that she has written more about the Winston Brothers and I plan to pick them all up!
