Vision in Silver, by Anne Bishop | Book Review #280

Trigger Warning: Self-Harm, Self-Harm Mention

If you are triggered by any of the mentioning’s above, I suggest that you do NOT read this book/series.

The Others freed the  cassandra sangue  to protect the blood prophets from exploitation, not realizing their actions would have dire consequences. Now the fragile seers are in greater danger than ever before—both from their own weaknesses and from those who seek to control their divinations for wicked purposes. In desperate need of answers, Simon Wolfgard, a shape-shifter leader among the Others, has no choice but to enlist blood prophet Meg Corbyn’s help, regardless of the risks she faces by aiding him.

Meg is still deep in the throes of her addiction to the euphoria she feels when she cuts and speaks prophecy. She knows each slice of her blade tempts death. But Others and humans alike need answers, and her visions may be Simon’s only hope of ending the conflict.

For the shadows of war are deepening across the Atlantik, and the prejudice of a fanatic faction is threatening to bring the battle right to Meg and Simon’s doorstep…

I think that the cover for Vision in Silver is the prettiest cover in the series yet.

I guess that the multiple points of view’s are just going to be a thing in this series. I didn’t like all the differing view points when I first started to read the series. Now that I’ve read the 3rd book though, I feel like I’ve gotten used to everyone and their particular views.

So, prior to me actually reading the book, I didn’t read what was expected to happen in Vision in Silver. I actually still haven’t read what was supposed to happen. I like doing this with series that I take a particular interest in, since I don’t want the storyline to be predictable.

I didn’t actually set out to predict anything while I was reading Vision in Silver either. I found that in some parts of the book, it was hard for me to concentrate while I was reading. That might just be a me thing though.

The overall plot line for the series is heating up! I don’t know what to expect when I read the next book, Marked in Flesh. However, I do like how Vision in Silver ended, which means that there is a whole lot of possibility in what will happen between Simon and Meg in the next coming books.

There is so much character growth in Visions in Silver too. Like, I didn’t expect there to be this much character growth within a lot of the characters. — I just remembered that, as per usual, there were a few deaths in this novel. I’m sad to see two (of the three) of them to be gone like that.

All in all, Vision in Silver was another great addition to the The Others series.

I gave Vision in Silver 4 of 5 stars on Goodreads.

Happy Reading!
Adele
