Zero at the Bone: 4/5

This M/M intrigue novel by Jane Seville stars D and Jack, two of the most endearing characters I have read this year.

The author takes an old trope (the hitman is supposed to kill his target but falls in love instead then has to run from the mob) and manages to make the book feel fresh and exciting. D is everything you would want in a hitman: smart, sharp, lethal, but most of all, detached. Jack is everything you would want in a doctor: educated, moral, and caring. Together they mend the tattered fabric of each other’s tapestries, fall in love in spectacular fashion, and manage a hfn ending.

Thank you to Nikki Coleman for recommending this one to me.
