review 1: Of the three Other Team books in the series, this one is the one I had the most trouble with, mainly because of Harvey’s so-called friend and ex, Mark. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Harvey is a doctor who is celebrating his 45th birthday. He is single and is about to meet in real life someone he has been talking to on a dating site. Mark has been telling him that at his age, a dating site is ridiculous. (There should have been a tip off about Mark, since he left 15 text messages at the time Harvey is going on his date. Mark has a boyfriend!) He is planning to meet his date, Jay, at The Other Team bar and is immediately attracted to Julien, the bartender. I did deduct respect points from Harvey because the date was at 8:00 and he was going to blow the guy o... moreff if he wasn’t there exactly at 8:00. Luckily, he was. The two hit it off, even as Harvey worries a bit because Jay is younger than he is. But they are working on finding their way and getting to know each other. This leads us to…Mark. Now supposedly this is a friend of Harvey’s, a friendly ex. They broke up because Mark was never willing to compromise. There is a scene where Mark, in a fit of jealousy that is completely off base, basically forces Harvey against a wall and is planning to rape him. In the bar where Jay works. And Harvey thinks, “this wasn’t going to happen. Not again.” Wait, what? Again? He’s raped Harvey before? This isn’t really addressed after that, in fact Harvey and Jay have sex after this and that brought down the rating some for me, just no.
review 2: Holy Steamy!I started this book and 2 hours later it was over and I was left with a huge grin. yes it's a short story but man is it fast, steamy, and luscious!Jay is just a sweet younger man while Harvey is an older distinguished gentleman, and both are lonely and searching for something that's lasting. While I don't want to give it away, adversary comes in a least expected corner but surprisingly it's dealt with and both men realize their attraction to the other is profound.If you love M/M stories you will definitely NOT want to miss ANY of this series! less
