review 1: Read by Mm Good Book Reviews: The CockTails series is a serialized drama, and--while each one is stand alone story--they are meant to be read in order. I love the way Renee can put in so much detail in to such a short story. I found myself wishing that it was longer because it caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. Your heart will be torn apart, when you read about the fear and pain, sadness and loneliness that both of these men feel. Chris is a bartender and never wants to settle down. He has seen his friends and boss fall in love and to him look like idiots. He never wanted to do that, he was young and wanted to continue playing the field. When you read about him, it comes to an understanding that his past might have more to do with that ... morethen anything else. He receives a phone call and his world crashes around him. He goes into shock and wakes up in the arms of one very hot and sexy man. A man who happens to be his bosses straight brother. Or is he not so straight.Marty is an Army Ranger who is on leave trying to decide what he wants to do with his life. He was injured badly in the war and just wasn't sure what he needed to do. So here he sat with a very sexy man in his arms, struggling with his feelings that are coming up so fast for Chris. He was straight, or was he. All he knew was he wanted to see where this goes.I loved this story and will definitely have to check out the rest of Renee's books. It tells of a story that makes you wish that you were holding them both. For Chris it will tear you apart, because when he had came out to his parents not all went well. And for Marty, to loose his best friend in the same war that injured him and to find out he might be gay just makes you want to hold him tight. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves tender stories, heart-filled glances, passionate touches and sexy men.
review 2: How do you describe the perfect book? That perfect balance between two characters and a situation that draws them together? Even the names are inspiring and wonderful! You pick up any of Renee George’s books and read it, and you’re not dragged along through the story, you’re fighting not to turn to the end because you want to see what happens. You are gently guided along, drifting through the story as not just someone intruding on the pages but someone being invited to sit beside a warm fire on a cold winter day, with a hot drink in your hands and a loving embrace to warm you back up again. The fear and angst and yes even sadness and misery these two men share with each other is heart breaking, but it does end on a good note! I promise! The daring escapades get your heart racing, the tender moments get bring you nearly to tears but the ending? That’s like licking the plate after a delicious dessert! I wish this were a longer story, and that it went on for hundreds of chapters! Although I’m sure my poor kindle doesn’t as I was up way too late finishing the book in one go! I seriously cannot CAN NOT wait for the next book to come out! less
