review 1: This reads like a book written by a talented junior high school student. The language is stilted. Some sections get a lot more attention than they deserve and other sections get less. The dialogue is just a couple steps better than the Dick and Jane books. Parts of it were like a very bad soap opera (every time Jill entered the pages, Frank's death). The "bad guy's" motivations were flimsy and pollyanna-ish. It was an interesting premise (people's private conversations are posted on a website for the entire town to see) and could have been an amazing thriller but poorly executed.
review 2: LISTEn is a fantastic book. I started this book late one evening and read it straight through. While there are aspects of the book that seem a little unrealistic - the m... moreajority of the story is one that could (and maybe should) happen. The characters seem like average everyday people trying to do right but sometimes failing. I was a bit nervous about the religious aspects of this book, but found that it is not preachy - it is simply a book saying God is here and we should turn to him more than we are already doing. I really really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone seeking not only a good read - but something to make them think about the words that escape from our lips. less
