review 1: Rhonda McKnight is taking the literary world by storm. Her 3rd novel, which is the sequel to An Inconvenient Friend, will leave you thinking and thanking God. Rhonda takes of running straight out the gates. Rhonda does a great job tackling the issues of infidelity, forgiveness and faith. If you read An Inconvenient Friend, you know the story of Angelina, Greg, Samaria and a little about Mekhi. In What Kind of Fool, we learn more about Greg’s father and Samaria’s mother. You may feel sorry for both of them because of their home life growing up. But, it still doesn’t give them a ticket to act the way they did. Samaria & Angelina can be compared to Ruth & Naomi. Except Samaria, has some changing to do to actually be referred to Ruth. If you remember Ruth was poor, and a... more foreigner who was helped by Naomi to overcome the difficulties she faced. She listened to the advice that Naomi gave her and in return Naomi was rewarded by Ruth’s unfaltering loyalty. Samaria…loyal to Angelina? Maybe, in the end they will become friends. You never know. In WKOF, you will laugh and definitely shed tears. The lives of Angelina, Greg, Samaria and Mekhi will be rocked. How will they deal with it? Will Angelina forgive Greg for all the hurt and pain he has caused on her? Will Angelina and Samaria become best of friends? You have to read to find out. This page turner gets five thumbs up.
review 2: Excellent story regarding the power and difficulty involved in true forgiveness - of an unfaithful spouse, of an individual once considered a friend, of a parent and lastly of oneself. The themes and messages in this book touched me deeply. Ms. McKnight also addressed the issue of salvation and different journeys that can be taken to achieve such. Often those who are in the midst of considering a Christian walk believe that they must become "perfect" in order to be accepted by Our Heavenly Father. Nevertheless, this novel demonstrates that God accepts us "just as we are" and that his grace and mercy is open to all. I highly recommend this novel! less
