review 1: This book by Rhyannon Byrd is your typical harlequin romance story. It is fast paced, a quick easy read. I really liked the book and it hooked my interest from the beginning. It is well written and has good editing. However, I didn't care much for the heroine. She was inconsistent and wishy-washy in her actions. She went beyond stubborn to rude and churlish. The story was funny and definitely steamy. I felt it could've had more story and more wolf. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys harlequin romance books but I am not interested in reading the rest of the series.
review 2: This is more a high 2. I'm almost sorry I got this book, and it's definitely brain candy. I probably won't do too many more of this author or Harlequin in general. As I wrote in my upd
... moreate, the first half read like bad fan fiction (as if someone used the Star Trek idea of Pon Farr and applied it to a werewolf setting). The werewolves aren't even all that wolfy. This could mostly be any man dealing with a power struggle back home and a heroine looking for her missing sister. The wolfishness didn't feel essential for the character but seemed more of a quick lip service to a trend in paranormal romance. Eh. No, thank you. less

Not my favorite. It was good. Slow at times. Not horrible.
