review 1: Very readable book for people who are interested in neuroscience but who are not neuroscientists themselves. I suspected I had this condition, and participated in David Eagleman's online Synesthesia Battery which confirmed my suspicions. However, this book introduced me to other forms of Synesthesia, which I didn't even consider I had... until I read them as described in Cytowic's book. Sure, I "see" the months of the year in specific shapes and colors, but didn't realize this was also a manifestation of my (apparently) synesthetic brain!

... more points home (and I loved comparing my experiences to those in the pictures/drawings). This book is an excellent resource for every synesthete, or anyone who is simply curious about synesthesia. less

I could only skim this book as it was too detailed and academic for the lay person.
