review 1: This is an older collection of short stories and it is a curious anthology. The stories read like "Twilight Zone" script pitches - they are all very short, with no character development whatsoever. There is an interesting idea behind most of them, and most feature some sort of "twist" ending (hence the Twilight Zone comparison). Its not great writing - his metaphors are infrequent and often tortured - but some of the ideas are unique and worthy of development. Not his best work but its a very fast read and it got me thinking.
review 2: When I picked this up nothing on the front of the book indicated this was a book full of short stories (only after you read the synopsis on the back does it fleetingly mention other stories), but almost all were very, very
... more good. I particularly liked the last three and the very first. The majority are quite short, so it's a very quick read. There were even a couple in which the endings took me by surprise. I'd recommend it for any one looking for a quick, sometimes comical, sometimes surprising read. less

A few gems, a few a bit long winded, and one or two that just had me flummoxed. Not bad for a buck.
