review 1: The Percy Jackson and the Olympians Ultimate Guide gives you a lot of extra details about some things the actual books might not have mentioned. It gives you some more background information on the characters. And it also shows you around Camp Half Blood. It shows you pictures and descriptions on some of the weapons and other objects used in the book. There are also fun quizzes to see if you or anyone you know is a half blood!I thought it was really fun to go through the book and learn a little bit more about some of the things that are in the book. This guide is great for people who have read some of the books from the Percy Jackson series.
review 2: Just for starters don't read this book until after you've read all five of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians ... moreseries as the book has several spoilers. Some obvious some a little less so, but still there to notice.I gave it 3 stars. To non-hardcore fans its not worth owning. To completionists and hardcore fans like myself it's a nifty addition. It's kind of a lite overview of a lot of the information from the book series mixed with a tiny amount of actual mythology information and even fewer instances of original content. To me it would have been much better if it put more stock into the actual mythological backgrounds of the gods, creatures, etc. with some more original content into the background stories of the fictional book characters.I guess this is the worse of the books in the Olympian series below Demigod Files because at least that book had original story content outside of what you've read in the other five books.Final verdict: Collectible only, not enough content for those looking for more stories. The Demigod files as I said however do have enough unique content to make it worth owning. less
