review 1: I thought this book was Amazing! It really helped to have the full stories behind the one's that are mentioned in the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus books. Also the commentary from Percy is absolutely hilarious!! I think my favorite highlight was the chapter that started off to be about Zeus. I would recommend reading this book before and after the series if you're new to it because it will definitely help you better understand the chapter books more, but at the same time the comments from Percy will only really make sense if you have already read his story.
review 2: This is literally the BEST book I have ever read (maybe with the exception of the Percy Jackson series). Here are some of the biggest reasons to read this:PERCY:I mean come on, Percy is like
... morethe biggest reason to even read this. I have really missed reading in Percy's PoV. He makes even the most confusing, complicated Greek Myths hilarious. Just the chapter titles will get you giggling, examples being "Persephone Marries Her Stalker", "Athena Adopts a Handkerchief", "Apollo Sings and Dances and Shoots People" and "Zeus Kills Everyone". LOL. IT'S SO FUNNY (because of Percy): Percy adds his own perspective to everything, which makes all the stories absolutely hilarious. Here are some of the funniest things he's said:"Your father is a complete ______________! I don't know what she called him, but I have a feeling that's when the first cuss words were invented.""At first, Kronos wasn't so bad. He had to work his way up to being a complete slime bucket.""I know. You're screaming, GROSS! The brothers wanted to marry their own sisters?! ""Why is Zeus always first? Seriously, every book about the Greek Goss has to start with this guy. Are we doing reverse alphabetical order? I know he's the king of Olympus and all- but trust me, this dude's ego does NOT need to get any bigger.""At this point, you'd think Demeter would have sworn off these gross, disgusting men forever and joined Hestia in the Permanently Single Club.""The Gods changed their war cry to: "RUN!" "HELP!" And "MOMMY!""“He was also the god of (take a deep breath) commerce, languages, thievery, cheeseburgers, trickery, eloquent speaking, feasts, cheeseburgers, hospitality, guard dogs, birds of omen, gymnastics, athletic competitions, cheeseburgers, cheeseburgers and telling fortunes with dice. Okay, I just tossed in the cheeseburgers to see if you were paying attention. Also, I’m hungry.”IT TEACHES YOU SOMETHING:I guess after reading some of the things Percy's said, you might not expect the myths to be very accurate. In the words of Percy Jackson: "There's like forty bajillion different versions of the myths, so don't be all "Well, I heard it a different way so you're WRONG!" I'm going to tell you the versions that make the most sense to me. I promise I didn't make any of this stuff up. Believe me, I couldn't make stuff up this weird." THE PICTURES:All the pictures are so AMAZING. I mean, just look at the cover. If that doesn't get you hooked, I don't know what will. Just read it. I mean, it's just the funniest thing ever since the Percy Jackson series. I couldn't get through a single chapter without laughing. :) less

This book is a great book that is hilarious, but informs you of the Greek Gods at the same time!

Interesting contrast to the D'Aulaire's book. Very accessible, but wordy. Good in small doses.

Ojalá fuera así como enseñaran los profesores en las clases. Dibertidísimo.
