review 1: Carter Kane is investigating a monster report at long island when he finds something else: Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, their meeting wasn't exactly friendly; it had a bit of tying people up and throwing people across the bay. Soon they realized that they had a common enemy to fight, but when it came to teamwork they weren't the best, until they realized that doing their own thing wouldn't work, so Percy distracted the monster while Carter had to find a way to get the necklace off the monster croc. Then the necklace wouldn't unhook and Percy's sweat whirlwind was draining him. "The Son of Sobek" by Rick Riordan is a story of identity and teamwork.
review 2: So I mean, I guess saying "I told you so" is a bit immature, right? haha Ok, ok but seriously! I've be... moreen waiting so long to read something like this, that the moment I heard about I knew that i HAD to get it immediately! This is a cross over of "The Lightning Thief" world of Riordan and his Egyptian world- it was definitely really cool and met my expectations nicely (unfortunately Rick didn't make these short stories into actual books- just stuck them on the back of the "soft cover" versions of the last two books he wrote (which I find EXTREMELY unfair, by the way ,as a loyal fan that buys the books the day they come out and not wait for the cheaper and lighter softcover versions!) so yes, I did read the ebook version off of my phone, which I hope I will never have to do again... something was definitely lost) But enough of that.I'll talk more about the overall story in the sister book review. less
