review 1: "The Backup Boyfriend" was a m/m romance I couldn't lay down! I finished the book in one day and was very disappointed the moment it ended. I could have red on and on about Dylan and Alec, two great characters full of hope, but with painfull memories of their past pushing on their sholders. This book was refreshing, funny and damn hot. The only aspect missing is that the important themes (HIV, homeless youngsters on the streets, ...) weren't deeply enough developped. I would loved to have known more about those points, being a part of Dylan's and Alec's lives! However I can't wait to read more about Tyler and I definitively rated the book with 5 stars!
review 2: I thought that this book was an easy read. The story flowed very well. I liked how it was not overly
... more sexualized and overly emotional. I think I liked the transformation of Alec's and Dylan's relationship. It was interesting how it began as an acquaintanceship to a relationship. I thought that Dylan's struggles were intriguing because he was trying to figure out his life yet it was undeniable that he needed Alec in his life. My favorite part was probably the end because it ended in a very lighthearted way. It was cute how they confessed their love for each other and talked about the future. less
