review 1: I decided to listen to the audiobook as Kristen Bell narrates it. As a huge VMars fan I enjoyed the book and it was good to be back in the world however if you dont know the series I wouldnt suggest picking this up. The story had a lot of twists and turns some were predictable some not. My only problem with the book was the lack of Logan and the other side characters. I would have loved for more Wallace and Mac and especially more of Keith. Looking forward to picking up the next book when it comes out!
review 2: 4.5 Stars, actually. As a big lover of Veronica Mars, I was pleased to be able to dive into a book written by the creator of the show himself and see the characters so well portrayed in prose. All too often TV writers prove themselves a little rubbish w
... moreith prose, but Rob Thomas is able to maintain that sharp dialogue we're all come to know and love whilst also giving us a little more insight into the characters that television just doesn't provide. He also resists the temptation to shoehorn every single character into the story- while a lot of those in the Mars-Universe are present, they never outstay their welcome. And he gives a kind nod to the characters that he killed off in the movie, which is nice. The story itself is pretty classic Veronica Mars Mystery: someone goes missing, but the trail has so many different twists and turns that not everything is as it seems. The writing is very much in the style of the show itself- a modern noir mystery packed with red herrings and hidden clues. You find yourself trying to work out for yourself what happened, although each chapter throws a new piece of information or curveball which changes your theory. I, for one, did not see the ending coming. My only criticism is the sections that debrief the reader on the events of the Veronica Mars Movie. Not only will readers be familiar with the movie by this point (anyone who is mad enough about the show to buy this book will most certainly have seen the movie by now) but the paragraphs come out a bit clunky and not really fitting in with the flow of the text. It's my suspicion that the authors were told to put these in towards the end of the writing process. It certainly reads that way.In summary: a very good read and a must for Veronica Mars fans. If you're not a Marshmallow, then watch the show, become one, then read this book. less

Somewhat predictable, but just as good as the 2nd or 3rd seasons/movie.
